Conference Calling

There are no standard steps for Conference Calling because the process is different from phone to phone. Please check out your phone’s online user guide. You can find the user guide to your phone by going to our homepage, selecting the category your phone is in, and then choosing your phone. Your user guide will be listed under the files area at the bottom of the page. If you cannot find your phone, please send us an emailand we will do our best to location a guide for you.

Call Waiting

How to accept a Call Waiting call:
There are no standard steps because the process is different from phone to phone. So please check out your phone’s online user guide.

How to disable a Call Waiting call:
To disable the feature for the duration of an important call, press Star key (*) followed by 70. It will immediately reactivate on the next call you make or receive.

Note: Call Waiting is automatically disabled when you are on one of the following types of calls: 411, 611, 911, or using a data feature

Call Display

Call Display works differently in different scenarios.
If you call a number equipped with Call Display from a digital area, your phone number will be displayed on their Call Display.
If you call a number equipped with Call Display from a non-digital area, you show as “Private” or “Out of Area” on their Call Display.
If you call a number equipped with Call Display but press Star key (*) followed by 67 before dialing the area code and number1 from a digital area, you show as “Private Caller” on their Call Display – that’s called Call Blocking.
Where is Call Display available?
When you are in a digital area, your mobile phone will display Call Display on all incoming calls, including Call Waiting calls.
Outside of any digital area, no phone will show Call Display for incoming calls.
Please remember that in order to have call display, you must have the feature enabled on your rate plan. If you are unsure if you have the feature or not, you can add it to your phone through our website here or you can give us a call, send us an email or come into one of our locations.

Call Forwarding

How to activate Call Forwarding:
Press Star key (*) followed by 72.
Enter the area code and number you want your calls forwarded to.
Press Send or Talk (depending on your phone) and an automatic prompt will confirm the feature has been activated.

How to deactivate Call Forwarding:
Press Star key (*) followed by 720.
Press Send or Talk (depending on your phone) and an automatic prompt will confirm the feature has been deactivated.

Voice Mail

How to set up Voicemail:
From your phone dial 1 + your area code + your phone number.
You’ll hear an automated welcome message.
You’ll then be asked to create a password, to record your name and record your greeting.
Voicemail offers the following key features
Selectable Languages: English or French.
Greetings: One standard greeting, one personal greeting (60 seconds max.), one extended absence greeting (60 seconds max.).
Message Storage: Room to store up to 10 messages (5 min./message) for 10 days, and the ability to recover deleted messages, mark messages as private, urgent or anonymous, have time stamp, playback control and save messages over again.
Voice Messaging: Send, reply and forward voice messages.
How to call your Voicemail (two ways):
From your phone dial 1 + your area code + your phone number, enter your password and follow the prompts.
From a land line or other mobile phone dial your area code + your phone number, press Star key (*), then enter your password and follow the prompts.

How to get Voicemail notification:
If you’re in a digital coverage area, you’ll get a text message that notifies you of a Voicemail message.
If you’re in an analog area, you can dial into your mailbox from your phone (1 + your area code + your number) at any time, but you won’t get a visual notification until you enter a digital area.

Text Messaging

How to send text messages from TELUS mobility phones:
There are no standard steps for text messaging because the process is different from phone to phone. Please check out your phone’s online user guide.
How to send text messages from telusmobility.com:
Go to Send a Message.
Enter the TELUS mobility client’s area code and phone number.
Write your message.
Hit Send and you’ll get a confirmation when your message has been sent.
Note: Messages of up to 260 characters may be sent. Those longer than 140 characters may be split into two shorter messages when delivered to our client.
How to send text messages from your email:
Open your email.
In the To field enter the person’s 10digitphonenumber@msg.telus.com(e.g. 4168730000@msg.telus.com).
Write your message (Messages sent with over 136 characters to phones will be split in two).
Hit Send.
How to receive text messages:
All mobile phones automatically receive text messages.
If you have one, you’ll get a visual notification on your mobile phone.

Downloading

Please check out your phone’s user guide for details on how to download. If you would like you view your user guide online. Simply click the ‘Shop’ section of our site, and then select the category that your phone is in. From this list, select your phone and look under the ‘Files’ section for your user guide.

International Calling

International calling is dependant on various factors. These factors include the time of activation, and your credit score. To activation international calling on your account, please call one of our store locations. To place an International call simply dian 011 + country code + phone number.

International Texting

Stay connected with friends and family overseas with one of our great international text messaging packages. To add one of the packages create an account and go to the “add feature” page or contact one of our locations and we would be happy to assist you.

To send an international text message simply dial 011 + country code + mobile number. Enter the message and press send.

Note: Effective Aug 04, 2010, International text messaging pay-per-use rates are increasing from 25¢ to 35¢ per message.

# TAXI

When out, don’t get stuck waiting to get through to a taxi.
By dialling #TAXI (#8294) on your TELUS handset, you can get connected to the first available taxi or to a taxi company of your choice. This service is available to TELUS clients in most Canadian cities.
For a connection fee of $1.50 per call plus airtime, you can save valuable wait time and avoid re-dialling.
